Travel in Peace, Travel in Style

“Dream Big Travel Often” has long been a favorite mantra of mine. During 2020, the “Travel Often” portion has undoubtedly been missing, but the “Dream Big” portion has been thriving. In October, I was scheduled to travel to Italy, and though that trip was sadly canceled, I was determined to keep the travel dream alive. We changed course, and instead, headed to Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah - an awe-inspiring resort I had long dreamed of visiting.

From the moment we arrived, I felt at peace. This 600-acre sanctuary of wilderness and serenity is situated amid the stunning desert landscape and towering mesas of red rock country. I came to discover later that the name “Amangiri” derives from the Sanskrit words for peace, aman, and mountain, giri - so the name of resort literally means “peaceful mountain.”

We were welcomed in style, and stayed in the Desert View Suite, the resort’s entry room category. There are 7 suite categories available, as well as a 4-bedroom luxurious home, and Camp Sarika, which I will mention later. My favorite part of our suite was the way the sliding doors opened up to reveal the magnificent desert landscape!

We spent our days lounging poolside, explored the area on a few marvelous hikes, gazed at the stars (wow - the stars!!) and even enjoyed the spa. Throughout our stay, I was blown away by the service. The staff treated us like we were the only guests, everything was personalized to our tastes, and they even went out of their way to get the drinks we like - even though they didn’t have it on property! No request was too big, and they surprised us with treats along the way (hello s’mores waiting for us in the room)!

We also toured Camp Sarika, their new collection of 10 luxurious tented one or two bedroom pavilions. Each has indoor living and dining areas, as well as large terraces with fire pits and heated plunge pools. Adjacent to the main property, staying at Camp Sarika allows you an extra level of privacy, while still enjoying all the amenities of Amangiri.

As I mentioned, I had dreamed of experiencing Amangiri for years - and the experience truly exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for privacy, bespoke luxury, and breathtakingly beautiful surroundings - I would love to help design the trip of your dreams to this Utah haven, or provide you with similar ideas based on your preferences.

Keep dreaming, and travel in style!
